Blogfire Carnival - Feb 18, 2010

Old workspace, new view:
It's still the same old living room and workroom in our house, but there's a new approach. My beads and fetishes take up only two drawers in the work chest - the three other drawers are for my paper supplies. The computer and table are in the same place...

I use the bottom of my glass table to lay large sheets, that don't fit in the work chest. Would love to have a map case! And I've added a paper cutter to the room. It's a small one, that I store under my round wood entry table - I use the large cutter at my job, when I need to.

There are some tools that I would love to have, like a paper press, and a hole punching cradle. I make do with a phone book! And I don't have a light box yet. But these things will come with time. The way I look at it, the more I produce, the more I can sell. Then I won't feel bad about buying expensive tools.

How in the world do you limit your supplies to two drawers?! I have a whole room full of supplies! But I still don't have a hole punching cradle...I've gotten used to punching without one and to use one at this point would probably mess me up! LOL!

It's so much fun to see artists' workspaces! Some are magnificent--dedicated rooms with storage and counter space galore. Some are tiny little corners with impermanent setup. But out of those spaces come glorious wonders!
My workspaces are literally all over the house! Some are permanent setups; some I have to pull supplies into and then put away again. My 12" x 12" papercutter is one of my favorite tools!

wow- very efficient and inviting looking workspace!! I am reclaiming mine from the chaos and hope to actually be able to photograh it within the next month or so...I have a lot of space but I just waste it with clutter, so your post is a real inspiration to me:)

Your space looks so organized! I have beads and stuff all over - mainly on the dining room table!

It looks like you have just beautiful natural light on your workspace! But only 2 drawers? I just couldn't do it! And thank you for dropping by!
