Etsy Success Holiday Boot Camp - Week #11

The top story in this week's boot camp concerns the new Circles and Activity Feed on Etsy.  Sorry, but this reminds me too much of Facebook.  It just gives too much information and what I'm interested in gets lost.  I'm sharing Circles with others, but don't use the Activity Feed often.  If I didn't have my blog, I might feel differently.  And I use the Craftomania toolbar  to see who's visiting and hearting my shop and items.  It's a great tool, and I highly recommend it!  IMHO, the best use for the Activity Feed is for checking your treasury locations and seeing new items from your favorite shops!

Other items on the boot camp checklist:

Set up a home location on your shop page.  Done that!

Shipping deadlines... not too worried about that!  Got my supplies and the post office is nearby.

Danielle has suggested some reading from the Etsy Success Reading List.

I've already read Don't Let You Biz Fall Apart During the Holidays which basically says to relax and don't feel guilty.  Good advice, hard to follow.

There's two other articles that look interesting:

How to Identify Your Ideal Customer

Holiday Marketing, a Few Favorite Things

I have not started the circle thing yet. I feel too swamped by all the other things right now. But I did read an article today in a trade magazine that said that today we have to do more than just market/worry about packaging/etc; we need to really focus on the product to make it great first. I sure am trying to get these patterns worked out so that next year I can list multiple things which hopefully will keep me on the top of searches....

My faves about the activity feed are the treasury notification and items from favorites too.
I forget to check craftopolis/craftcult so I do like the hearts option as well :)

I use craftcult/craftopolis. I opted out of the activity feed. The page was just too cluttered for me and I really don't have time for one more thing right now =p So, no guilt on my part *lol* I hit 'no thank you'!
