AlphabeThursday - Stripes + Puzzles = Struzzle

Do you remember synchronicity from the Artist's Way?  It's the experience of two events that appear not to be related which occur together in a meaningful way.  When I came upon a synchronicity moment while putting together this post, I knew I had to share it with my AlphabeThursday class.  It all started when I was looking through some Tangle patterns that started with the letter S, and I came upon "Struzzle" created by Jo Newsham.

Here's my first try at a Struzzle tangle pattern.  You make a basic block with pencil, then draw in some puzzle pieces and add stripes to the pieces.  I add some stars for good measure!  You can make a Struzzle tangle too, by following these easy instructions.

But the sychronicity? You see, last week I began using puzzles in my art journaling.  I've always loved jigsaw puzzles.  I have fond memories of sitting down with my uncle and working on them.  It grew to be an obsession with me.

To see what the others are thinking about for the letter S, come visit Ms. Matlock's class at Alphabe-Thursday {:-D

I love this! I have done some puzzle type layouts in my scrapbooking, and I always have a jigsaw puzzle going in my house.

I need to try one of those Struzzles!

Struzzle. What a cool word!

I love the ingenuity of the word AND the art projects.

Thanks for the smile today on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's letter "S".

You made me smappy. (Smile and happy!)

WOW, you have a lot of blog love!

So interesting ... seems like they are coming up with new things to experience by the minute.

I too was a jigsaw puzzler when younger. Think I got the enjoyment of it from my Nanna. I did a very large one of a woodpile, alone, years ago, then painted that stuff on it so it stayed together.
