Rats, Rags and Raindotty

I decided to enroll in Ms. Jenny Matlock's AlphabeThursday class after peeking in the window, and noticing my friend Anna, at Anna's Adornments, enjoying herself so.  Now it's off to school for me on Thursdays.

Always eager to learn new things, I thought Ms. Jenny's class would be the perfect place for me to practice drawing my zentangle patterns.  I'll be using the first letters of patterns found on the TanglePattern website.  A Tangle?  There's lots of descriptions, but I would say it's a meditative stroke of the pen, that makes a design.  Today the class is looking at the letter R.

Please don't tell Ms. Matlock I tore a page out of The Story Teller book, especially since it's the fairy tale of "Cinderella or the Little Glass Slipper."  I've renamed it "Rats and Rags" - no one will ever know!  And I'm using Raindotty, an original tangle pattern by Jane Monk.

Come visit Ms. Matlock class over at Alphabe-Thursday, and learn what the letter R stands for!

Never heard of tangle patterns...very neat!

I like zentangle. I have no idea what I am doing and don't seem to follow any "rules" but it is relaxing.

I'm not sure I understand what zentangle is but it sounds like fun and out of my comfort zone too.

Love what you did! (And on the subject of the book, my lips are sealed tight. shhhhh)

AlphbeThursday has looked like so much fun. Been seeing it for quite a while, but I'm scared off by that "Leave 10 comments" part. I'm Such a lamer. Or maybe just realistic. I dunno.

PS Lucky you, working in the archives! Are you allowed to copy the photos? I'd probably run the machine out of ink/toner!

I bought a Zentangle kit last year, and am embarrassed to say I have done nothing with it. I'm glad you're taking the plunge with this class. Hope you have lots of fun!

Tangle pattens. I like that name. It sounds like I would be organizing chaos. But then I could be making it. :-)

zentangle? sounds interesting! so glad you decided to join Mrs. Matlock's class! I am determined to make it through the alphabet! It has often been a challenge. But it is definitely a creative outlet.

I have not heard of Zentagle but it sounds fascinating. I just put a note on my legal pad here to google it and find out some more details.

You have a gorgeous blog here. Love the soothing blue background and the fun header!

Thanks for an intriquing link on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's letter "R".

Welcome to class!
