Tangle of the Week - Riverstones

Here is the zentangle called Riverstones, created by Lori Howe about a year ago.  It was my favorite of all the tangles beginning with the letter R.  Her zentangle patterns and doodles can be found at lacefairy1 on flickr.

I've been trying to figure out which pens and markers I need to buy, once my 30 Day Craft Cleanse is over - the Micron Pigma Pens are my favorite, what I used on this page.  I started using these pens at work because they are acid-free, waterproof and fade resistant.  And they don't bleed through to the other side of the page, which is very important to me when I'm drawing in my art journal. What are your favorite pens to draw with?

And what's your favorite word, beginning with the letter R?
Find out how other "students" answered that question in Ms Jenny's AlphabeThursday Class.

You did great on this tangle.

I have to agree with you on the Micron pens. I bought some last year for drawing doll faces and now use them for my journals for the same reason. And they write really well over acrylic painted journal pages, too!

I like the river stones tangle. But then, I love river stones in general. Even have a bowl filled with them in my living room!

I like rocks of any kind =) Great idea for a drawing.

I like the micron pens, too, but my favorit "pen" is still my dip pen(s) and bottled ink. Not very portable, but lots of flexibility and variation of line width. I like that a lot.

I really like your riverstones tangle too! I didn't even know there were pens like that. I'm so clueless! :(

New follower from Alphabe-Thursday. I wish I knew a little about drawing--tried in college, but it was the worst grade I got. I'm jealous.

Great idea journaling the patterns! I like the Pentel Energel Needletip 0.7 for details too.

I love to tangle, so I appreciate your river rocks greatly (as well as your inspirational tableau on your desk!). Thank you for the link to Lace Fairy on Flickr; her work is beautiful and very inspiring.

I still find that I like to draw with pencil the best.

The river stones are such a neat design. I can almost see that in black and white with watercolor wash into the stones!

Just lovely.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

A+
