B is for Book - the storybeader

"Sit down with me and
Enjoy the lilting sound of
Haiku poetry."

Even though I enjoy my Blog and spend a lot of time writing and researching for it, I think my favorite B word has to be Book.  I grew up reading at night with my mother, and got a library card when I was a small girl.  My favorite genre of Books are historical fiction and biography.  I'd like to publish a Book someday, maybe call it the Storybeader’s Book of Haiku, my beloved form of poetry.

Reading is a wonderful past time. I wish I had enjoyed it more as a child. I'm trying to get into the groove of reading more now my kiddos are grown and the homeschooling chapter is almost done. Please come by to read my 'B' post!

The only thing I like as well as reading is writing. These are my favorite pastimes.

I used to read all the time when I was little. I think having to read all those text books in college burned me out though!

But if you publish that book...I'll be the first in line to get my copy signed :)

That just reminded me of the sweetest story! The other day I was at the lb, and a little girl, probably 6 or so had her nose to the counter and the biggest grin you've ever seen; she was getting her very first library card. SO cute!

I love this page so much! It's so homey. I think that you should definitely write a book.

I hope you get that book published someday. Good luck!

I think this is my favorite page in your art journal, probably because I also enjoy books so much--reading them, writing in them (handmade ones!), and making them. I write poetry, too, but haiku is not a form I have mastered.

What fun! My grandmother was a librarian and my daughter's mother-in-law is a librarian. Books have always been a part of our lives!

I love that page! I love books too and would certainly buy your book of haiku!

We know a Siberian Husky named Dave who writes Haik-woo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/44272015@N00/560151286/in/photostream/

Oh! We love to read too! When our three were growing up, it was countless trips to the library...loaded up with books for all. (I love historical fiction (especially set in the 1940's and 1950's and biographies and how-to books and Christian fiction and...)

Love your idea of a future Haiku book :o)

Blessings & Aloha!
& Thank you for stopping by :o)

Other than going into a bead or yarn store, my favorite thing is a book store. I used to have dreams of owning one with a coffee shop. I guess those days are going by the wayside. I love stacks of books, books in a bookcase... books by my bed....

I think you stirred up a lot of great memories.

thanks for stopping by and commenting... the boys (my grandsons) are not twins. They're 2 and 4. That is, unless you were referring to the dogs...they're also not twins...4 months apart... heehee. Have a great week!

Oh wouldn't that be glorious?

I visualize your beautiful illustrations now.

I admire anyone that can write haiku. It is definitely a skill set that is well beyond me!

Thanks for an interesting link to Alphabe-Thursday's letter "B".
