AlphabeThursday - D is for Dogs

Meet Buster and MJ!
Last time we had our AlphabeThursday  post(on the 17th), I picked the word CAT.   So I decided that Dog would be appropriate for this week.  Our two dogs, MJ and Buster are great friends with our neighbors.  The two girls especially like Buster.  He is a young English Pointer who I found running around in circles in the parking lot where I work, early one morning.  He was so cute (and friendly) that I called my DH to come and pick him up, instead of notifying Animal Welfare.  Now MJ is a labrador retriever-Irish setter mix.  DH found her when she was a pup, listed in the paper by a military couple who were moving overseas.  She's almost nine years old now.

To get the images on my page, I first printed photos of them.  Then I covered the paper with clear packing tape so they would be easier to cut out.  Next, I laid them on the page, took a make-up sponge and stamped on top of them with olive green ink.  I had to do a little drawing on the white figures because with the reverse images, you couldn't tell their heads apart from their bodies.  But they were easy to draw - because I'm so used to looking at them!

Come see the other words our class picked to write about for this AlphabeThursday here.

Nicely done! I really think your art journal is cool. My youngest daughter would sketch in a journal all the time. I wish I could start something like this and then stick with it. Oh well...thanks for hopping by today! =D

What a great page. I wish I could do a journal that included art. Mine is words, words, and only words.

A sweet, creative way to post for "D" - can't imagine a house without pooches...

My Alphabe-Thursday is about Dogs too.

They sound like great dogs that were blessed to find a loving home. I almost posted on dogs too, 'cause we have two dear, funny ones at our house. We like to make up conversations between them. Anyway, what a great idea too for how to get their images in your notebook. So clever. I want to try it. Wonderful post!

I kept looking and looking at the picture trying ot figure out what technique you used.

How clever you are! This was really a dynamic page.

I think you captured the images so dramatically.

Thanks for linking up.

Loved the descriptions you shared here with us, too.

A+
