AlphabeThursday - X is for X-Ray

I've seen x-rays of my ankle three times so far.  First, when I first went into emergency the Sunday it happen.  They rolled the x-ray machine into my examining room.  Thought that was pretty neat.  And they told me I had broken my ankle in two places, on both sides of the foot.

Then, three days later, I went to see the orthopedic surgeon.  They took x-rays and told me I had broken my ankle in three places!  Surprise!

Last week was the third time I saw my x-rays, two weeks after my surgery.  I had a post-op visit with my doctor.  And I saw the plate and screws they put in, to hold everything together.  Kinda scary!  I wonder if people will mistake me for a terrorist with a weapon... in my foot!

But I forgot to ask the doctor the REAL SERIOUS questions:  How many stitches did I have (they're gone) and how many bolts are in there ?

See what other bloggers wrote about the letter X

Ouch! I've always wondered about airport security too if you have pins or screws or plates in your body!

You have the perfect post for X! I have to take notes with me to the doctor otherwise I forget to ask about things! And of course I wait until I have 10 things I need to talk to him about...lol!
Glad you're on the mend :)

Ouch! You broke it well. As long as it feels good and works it's OK to have all that metal in there.

The terrorist comment cracked me up. Hopefully that's not awful. I just thought it was a funny take on this topic. I'm glad that your foot is healing up nicely.

Maybe they wrote down how many stitches.
There are plenty of people these days with metal parts going through airport security.
Good to see you have a sense of humor about all this!

I think you should just be glad that he didn't come back and tell you it was now broken in four places! Hope it heals quickly.

This is a pretty serious 'X'! I hope your ankle is mending and that you won't be setting off the alarms at the airports!

Oh my! Hopefully, your doing better and better! And hm...yeah, what about the airport security alarms? And thank goodness, they didnt say there were four breaks!, like Betty commented on. Be sure to also ask your doctor, if you will need or do not need to pre-medicate with any antibiotics before any future dental appointments.

Blessings & Aloha!
I am visiting our daughter, son in law and little grand baby, so only now catching up a bit with blog visits from last week!

OMG - that IS scary, but it also still amazes me what doctors can do these days... And you definitely should have asked those questions :)

This sounds like a serious and painful 'X'.

It must be so difficult with all those breaks.

I wonder if you could call the doctors office and ask the nurse there those questions...she might be able to just take a peek in your file!

Sending you healing hugs and blessings along with your A+ this week.

I broke my ankle in three places in late June. I know how hard the recovery process is, but it does get better. Here's a link to my x-ray on Instagram. I'm flying in December, and I can't wait to see if anything happens through security.
