List It Tuesday - Unintended Uses

I had a hard time thinking up entries for this list.  The only thing that came to mind was
that I use my phone as my alarm clock in the mornings.

But then I started making this page for my art journal.
And noticed I was painting with Diet Coke!
And using my empty toilet paper roll for making circles.  Wow!
I use products all the time in my artwork that have unintended uses.

So I was able to make a list:

Coffee/Tea/Diet Coke to paint with
Empty toilet paper/paper towel rolls as stamps
Erasers as stamps
Manila folders as postcards
Strips of paper for rolling beads
Window glass as a cutting board

This post is in response to Aimee's question, What are things you use, but not for their intended purpose.  See other lists are List it Tuesday

It's great that you've found creative uses for so many ordinary objects in your artwork.

I love how many of us have erasers as stamps! Yay for artists!!

I guess I'm not clever enough to figure out unintended uses for things unless someone tells me or it's totally by accident. I don't quite understand painting with Coke either. Maybe my brain is too full of taxes!

It's surprising how many things we crafty folk can find to use in our work :) Like I told you the other day...I was painting with q-tips :)

Oh I see ... coke is like tea ... it stains the paper. That is cool.

Amazing how we do things that are clever but get used to them and forget we've been inventive.

I like your clock!
totally relate about unintended uses. Only I can't think of anything right now.

It's funny when you're asked to make a list like this and you can't think of a single thing because you're so used to using things unconventionally! LOL.

Oh, I like the painting with coke! And I make erasers in to stamps too! (Well, not lately, but have done.)

Wonderful list. I love the painting.
