21 Secrets - Doodling Our Way

I just completed the first class of my 21 Secrets workshop.  It was with Cathy Bluteau and  called Doodling Our Way.

We started out with flowers; mine were from some decorative paper that I had.  After gluing the flowers down in my art journal, I added markers and pens, various paper, Washi tape and ribbon.  I also added the name of our workshop with Cathy's picture, and a date, to record where this all came from.

At the end of collaging, we were instructed to add some words.  I cut out the phrase  "Patience Makes Perfect" from a magazine.  I think you need a lot of patience for doodling.

I thought since I had all the supplies we were going to use for this particular workshop, it would be a good place to start.  But I hadn't realized all the different ways artists go about collaging.  Cathy showed me a new way, with doodling and painting abstractly.  I feel the spread is lopsided, but it's growing on me.

Super cool! I'm actually always tempted when I see doodling classes, but I've never had the chance to take one. Hopefully the rest of your workshop is just as fresh and new!

I like "patience makes perfect" -- I haven't heard that phrase before, just "practice makes perfect." I guess you need both for doodling! I think your page looks great!
