AlphabeThursday - V is for Vintage

Vintage is a word many craft people use when searching online for accessories and supplies.  Here are some of my favorite vintage pieces that I've found recently.  Hope you enjoy looking through them, and visiting the shops while you're here.

Blue Stamps
StampsForCrafts is the perfect place for me to look for vintage stamps.  Here's some ways I use stamps in my mail art.  Cathy has her stamps divided in sets by color and topic.  This set of blue stamps has to be my favorite.

Cat String and Scissors Holder
I fell in love with this vintage scissors holder that Sarah added to her shop, Magnolia's Attic.  The backside of the kitty is open to hold your thread!  This is something I definitely need in my workroom.  And I have the perfect pair of scissors for it!  Sarah's shop is divided by rooms in your house, a great way to find what you're looking for.

Most of you know that I love my art journaling.  One thing I like to add to pages are bits of handwritten paper.  Since my script handwriting is not very elaborate, I like to look around for people selling vintage letters.

Antique Handwritten Paper
These three papers are just what I look for, which I found at FrenchKlimBim.  The handwriting is in Dutch, and are notes from the Sabina and Micha's grandfather who was a schoolteacher in the early 1900s.

Vintage Luggage Tags
And here is something from my shop.  Even though I made these luggage tags, I call them vintage because of the image.  These two men are holding up a sphere of the sky, with zodiac signs across it.  They can be placed on suitcase handles, or used as bookmarks.

Come by this week's AlphabeThursday  at Ms. Jenny's blog,  ...off on my tangent... and see what other favorite words bloggers are picking.  And join us!  Next week's letter is W.

Vintage is a great V-word and I like very much the photos you've selected to illustrate it. Vintage has such a warm feel. I can see why people like to use it in art journals.

Oh, wow, what a nice surprise! Thanks for featuring my little kitty! Didn't people have beautiful hand writing way back when -- those papers are lovely! Love your tags, too -- I'd be using them for bookmarks!

The kitten is cute! And I adore those handwritten letters. Wow. I think handwriting is an artform in itself. Such a shame people don't really write letters anymore - there is so much history and beauty in those vintage letters.

That kitty is cute! I'm not much into vintage but I like your features today! My handwriting is pretty much illegible but I never thought of looking for vintage letters with the old beautiful handwriting on them.

great post!
I have a collection of stamps. I need some inspiration for using them!
Old postcards are interesting as well for their handwritten notes. One of the most interesting postcards I found was dated 1909.
great vintage post!
