Glue it Tuesday, Week #8 - Wild Swans

Was so happy when I got home from work Monday and saw my book club selection had arrived.  It's called Wild Swans : Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang.  I've been having trouble with Amazon lately, so I decided to try another online book site called Biblio.  The other book that I ordered from them arrived last week, so I think I'll give this company a try.  I like being able to use my PayPal account too.

I painted my journal page with red and ochre acrylics (need to get some paint on my paper plates for a future project!)  Then I glued bits of the mailing envelope, the shipping order page, a photo that I had and other scraps that reminded me of China.

The book is a true story about a Chinese woman, and the lives of her mother and grandmother in the 20th century.  It's a thick little paperback and I'm excited to start it.  I was reading the chronology in the beginning of the book and was taken by something she wrote for the year 1975 "Father dies.  I meet my first foreigners."  She is a little older than me (she was born in 1952) so it should be very interesting.

This post is for Week 8 of Glue it Tuesday.
Come by Aimee's blog at Artsyville and see what other art journalists glue.
