21 Secrets - Games Journalers Play

I just completed another 21 Secrets workshop last weekend.  The instructor was Diana Trout and we created a card game for journal prompts.  Prompts can be used in a number of ways, whether you're looking at a theme for your art journal or you're writing a post in your blog.  I'm sure lots of artists use them, I'm just not familiar with all the different applications.

For the workshop, I used an Astroids tin (just like Diana!) and decorated it with a broken fan and some washi tape.  I cut my cards to size (to fit inside the tin) and then rounded the corners, so they look nice.

The cards were plain white so I covered them with Dylusions Ink Spray.  Since I wanted some red on them and didn't have any ink that color, I tapped the cards with a red ink pad.  Then took some of the prompts that Diana had given us, printed them and glued each one on a card.

There are 17 cards, counting the personalized "Storybeader Prompts" card for the top.  I was thinking of using this for myself, when I needed some inspiration.  Then making another set as a present or for sale.  It was fun workshop and I want to thank Diana for showing it to us.

I love the tin! The fan gives it a cool texture.

What a creative idea! The tin is a cute touch. Keeping one set for yourself and making another one to sell is a great idea.

What a cool idea to use an old fan. I love the way this came out and that you used one of your own written prompts. I am hoping that more students will personalize their prompt game in this way but using prompts that are personal to them.
