AlphabeThursday - R is for Remember

It seems like I’m hearing lots of people forgetting simple things lately.  “I walked into the next room, and forgot why I went in there,” a friend said to me recently.  Or my BBArtisans team members tell me they take photos and write up their descriptions for a new item, but forget to upload the information into their Etsy shop.

So, I have a solution:  Make a list.  I actually love list making, and I know lots of other art journalers who do too.  A group of art journalers I know used to create “listed” artwork and share them on List It Tuesday, over at Aimee’s blog, Artsyville.

Sunday's view of my hott notes
I use hott notes.  It’s a great place to put your lists (and more) on your desktop.  It’s so handy to be able to see your lists, especially if you’re at the computer a lot like me.  I continuously change or add to them, keeping them up to date.  Hott notes is free and you can find it online.  Another digital to-do list is called Remember the Milk.  I used it a few years ago and it’s great if you don’t mind going online to see your list.  Now there’s even a iphone app available.  You can prioritize things, if your list is long!  It’s also free.

Writing down short and long term goals are sorta like having lists.  I looked back at my long term goals from the beginning of the year and completely blew it!  Oh well, lots of unexpected things happened.  I used to be better with my monthly goals, but I stopped writing those down in February.  So I plan to start that up again.  Stay turn!

See what other bloggers are thinking about.  Hop on over to AlphabeThursday!

I'm a compulsive list maker. I will even write something I've done on the list so I can have the satisfaction of checking it off as Done.

I might have to try hott notes -- I'm one of those who make a grocery list... and then leave it at home, or make a to do list... and it gets pushed under something else and I lose it. Oh yeah, and make stuff and forget to list it -- yup, that's me!

I now keep an open box to reuse old papers on the floor next to my desk and periodically, I put a sheaf of reusable papers in a big binder clip to keep next to my computer to write myself notes when I'm on the phone. Has turned out to be really handy.

I used to think I liked hand written lists, but anymore I just tend to lose them!
I like the idea of a list on the desktop. I've seen the apps, but I don't use my phone enough for this.
I'll have to look into Hott Notes...thanks!

The older I get, the less I remember. Short-term anyway. My long-term is ok, so I will remember it eventually.

I've just started making lists with Wunderlist on my phone and so far I'm really good at making them but not so good at marking things off. Gotta work on that!

I have a weakness for buying little notebooks - so I can keep lists, notes, info andreminders, etc. If I don't write it down, I forget it.
The only problem with this is that I forget to put the book in my purse!!!

Make a list is a good idea and I also do so. But sometimes I find myself in the basement and have forgotten why I went there ! So I go up again, and suddenly it comes back, it was to fetch some apples, lol !

Reminder lists are really handy to have... As long as you can remember to use them... (((winkwink)))

I have found that written reminders are a wonderful way to organize my daily , weekly and monthly responsibilities...

Thanks for listing to the letter "R"!

Remarkable job!
