AlphabeThursday - I is for IQ

IQ has always meant to me intelligence.  But then, what is the Q suppose to stand for?  It's Quotient.  So we have Intelligence Quotient, the score derived from one of several standardized tests designed to assess intelligence.  William Stern, a German psychologist, was the man who invented this concept.

There's a lot of tests that are used to measure intelligence, and they can be related to music, health age, crime, job performance and so forth.  Just about anything.  Here's a site, if you're so inclined to try your hand at one.  Me?  I hate intelligence tests!

When I think of the phrase IQ nowadays, I think of my cute little car called a Scion IQ.
Forget the tests!

You're right...your car is cute! Your comment made me laugh :)

There are so many levels of "intelligence". Jesse and I discuss this often as I have a 4-year degree...but he always wins when it comes to common sense!

Discovered I have test anxiety, so no tests for me.

Your car is adorable, I never heard of that type before.

Love the term artifical intelligence.

I really don't mind tests, I think they are kind of fun! But the results are just an indicator not a badge of accomplishment. Love your little car!

There are many areas in which a person can be intelligent.

Very cute car, Deb! There sure are a lot people who dislike IQ tests...maybe it is because many of us don't like to be labeled, and perhaps because IQ tests suggest where our boundaries are, and many of us like to think we can exceed those boundaries.

I like your car too. Intelligence is often over-rated. It's what you do or don't do with it that counts. ;)

I have never liked the idea of intelligence being measured with an IQ test...

But I love the idea of cruising around in your super-cute Scion IQ!

Thanks for linking to the letter "I".
