AlphabeThursday - Y is for Yoga

I decided for May to get out my exercise mat and try some yoga and meditation.  That would be good for my mind and body.  But I couldn’t find my mat!  So last weekend, I bought another one while out shopping.  


I have a yoga book from a (very) long time ago.  It was written by a woman I knew from  college; I needed some guidance and calming at the time.  And feel that same calming and fitness would be good in my life right now.  So hopefully, I can continue to wake up early enough and practice yoga.   In my book are exercises, philosophy, dietary guidelines and even recipes.


This month I’ve also changed the layout of my daily calendar.  Instead of having a two page spread for the whole month, my days are recorded randomly.  Here’s my May 4th entry, a poem called “To the flock of birds” that my yoga teacher, Indiradevi, wrote.  I made a bird stamp, since I didn’t have one, and placed all the papers I found in my book in (and on) an envelope.  Then glued the envelope onto my spread.  I love verse two of her poem:

“… Take me to swim with you
In the golden rays of the dreams beyond
Above the clouds of misery
Into ever bright dawn!  …”

Ever since I do Yoga I am fit again ! I do my exercises every morning and once a week I have my Yoga class. It's soft gymnastic no meditation.

Yes, I'm another one who would benefit from yoga. I've been thinking about it and doing a little in my own. I think I need to attend a class to motivate me.

Enjoy your yoga and mediation. I find exercise relaxing and I'm trying to get back in the groove and exercise more.
