AlphabeThursday - G is for Grapefruit

I never liked grapefruit when I was a kid.  But now I’ve found Ruby Reds, which don’t have that sour bite, and they have become one of my favorite fruits.  Grapefruits are very good for you; a rich source of anti-oxidants, high in fiber, and contains 70% of your recommended daily intake of Vitamin C. 

Since I decided to write about them, I thought I’d give you some vital points:

Buy red grapefruit that is heavy for its size, with smooth, unblemished skin.
Store them in the crisper for up to one month.
Use them in salads and cocktails, or have for breakfast. 

Another time to have grapefruit is at snacktime: in little cup.  I like Dole’s.  
They are made with 100% fruit juices and 70 calories.

I've also acquired a taste for grapefruit. Our neighborhood school sells fruit for fundraisers--love the months when they have grapefruit.

My parents used to have grapefruit when I was a kid. I never liked it then. I think I should try it again!

Ruby reds are soooo delicious! When we lived in Arizona, my neighbor had a tree and she was very generous in sharing! My cholesterol medication won't let me eat one at night, when I really have the urge, so they are my breakfast go-to food!

Well I'm still not a fan. LOL. My Letter "G" is about food too only not grapefruit.

Hi thanks for coming by my grocery post. I wouldn't know what to do with only one grocery. Actually I have been in a small town that was that way. It was a challenge for me. We went to the 'city' a lot!

We have so many grapefruit in the winter here. The Ruby Red's are my favorite as well.
